Bathrooms

in Hotels

Since running a hotel, I have often wondered whether people do at home what they do in hotels, particularly in bathrooms. Perhaps it is because the bathwater is "free" and the bath foam is "free" that so many hotel baths are filled to such a level that both water and bubbles cascade onto the carpet.

How on earth do wash basins get cracked - we have had to replace three basins, and we hardly attract vandals? Similarly how do taps and even lavatory pans get broken. We are, I believe, a quiet respectable, hotel. We do not set out to attract, nor do we succeed in attracting, the hooligan element, but we still get things smashed in the bathroom, usually with no apology from the guest, who will have departed by the time we find the damage
